Saying Yes to God

When I answered “yes” to God’s whispers, I had no idea what I was getting myself into, what all it would entail, or where He was leading me. Whispers? I have to chuckle at my word choice because many times, it felt like a really hard tap. tap. tap. on my shoulder. Not literally, just figuratively. Why would He have to tap so many times? Because I wanted to pretend I did not know what He wanted, to just ignore Him. Quite frankly, I wanted to say no to God. I struggle to find the words to explain my journey the past couple of years or more. I am at a loss to share how hard, yet exiting, scary, yet peace filled, life changing and sometimes lonely this road has been or maybe not been – but seemed. There is no way I can describe how awesome and how precious His goodness is. No doubt, saying yes to God has placed me on the hardest path of my life. Saying yes to God has placed me on the most uplifting and fulfilling journey of my life. While those two sentences seem to be contradictory – they are absolutely true!

You see, it all began with God whispering “more” in my ear. You probably already know that story. If not, you can read it here - Why Am I Doing This?. It took a while for me to get it and then to give in to it. For some crazy reason, God has called me to write. It is so funny the assumptions that people make about this calling. People assume this is my doing, my dream. People assume I am a writer by nature and cannot go a day without putting pen to paper. People assume words just flow out of me. Nope! None of those things are true. You see, God has called me to do something that I cannot do. He is calling me to do what only He can do through me.

What is He calling you to do?

Are you ignoring Him and justifying saying no because you cannot do it?

Have you considered saying yes to God?

There is so much I want to tell you about. There is so much that God has taught me. And we will talk more about it in the weeks ahead. But today, I just want to encourage you to raise your hands in total surrender. He has a plan and a purpose for you. It does not matter what others think or say. This is personal, between you and God. If you cannot hear His whispers or feel His direction – it is okay. Just draw near to Him and He has promised to draw near to you. Spend more time with Him, wait on Him and rest in Him.

Saying yes to God places you in the center of His will. Don’t run ahead or lag behind - walk hand in hand with Him. Just say yes to God.

“So you shall not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right or the left, to go after other gods to serve them.” Deuteronomy 28:14

Note from Pam... Thank you for reading what I write. It blows my mind that someone does. My first book will be released in February and I am still struggling to call myself a writer. I really feel like a great big mess! God can use our messes to minister to others. Will you partner with me? "Like" my posts on social media and share them. Follow me on social media. Alongside my full-time leadership position with Premier Designs jewelry, God has called me to be more and to do more to inspire others to know God's word so they can walk in obedience to it. I just want to encourage people to fall in love with Jesus, so they can inspire others to fall in love with Jesus, so they can inspire others to fall in love with Jesus, so they... You get it. Let's do it and see how God uses it.
