Our Beliefs Matter

What do you believe? Do you believe what you say you believe? Do you live like you believe what you say you believe? It is easy to say we believe something, but our actions and our reactions are an indication of the truth. Do we have a strong and authentic belief or do we struggle with unbelief?

We are on a search for what matters most in life. What is it that matters most? What you believe matters most will drive your thoughts, your decisions and your actions. It will determine the path you walk, the direction of your future and the legacy you leave behind. It is of utmost importance that we all stop and ask ourselves, “What matters most? What are my beliefs? Does my life reflect it?”

Does it matter what we believe? Yes, it surely does. It will matter for all eternity. This life we are living is just a blip of time. It flies by and will be over before we know it. Some of us only have tomorrow, some a few years and some many years. We have no idea when our time here will end, so it seems like to me that today is a good day to determine what it is that we believe and to start living our life like we believe it.

What matters most is our beliefs.

What do you believe?

Do you believe God’s self-description in Revelation 1:8? He said, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, says the Lord, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Do you believe He is the Supreme Being, the Creator of All, the Infinite One?

Do you believe John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”?

Do you believe John 14:6? Jesus said, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.” Do you believe that through Jesus we have forgiveness, reconciliation to God and belief on Him offers us eternal life?

Do you believe John 14:26? Jesus told His disciples, “…the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.”

It is not enough to just believe in God the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit. After all, even Satan believes in the Trinity. What matters most is that we believe ON Jesus, that we surrender our life to Him and grow our relationship with Him to a place of true intimacy.

IF we believe what we say we believe, why are we worrying, living in fear, pleasing people, and fulfilling our selfish desires? Our life is not about ‘me’. We were created by God, filled with purpose by Him and called to fulfill His plan for our life. When we surrender - exchanging our way for His way – we will find all that we have been searching for…
