What's Your Next Step
What’s Your Next Step?
What’s your next step? Which direction should you go? What is God asking you to do? Sometimes we just need Him to light our way and to point us in the right direction. I often wish He would just drop down a note from Heaven with specific instructions for me. Wouldn’t that make our life so simple?
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.”
We already have what we so desperately crave. We have a word from God - a book filled with God’s word. It is our direction, our instruction, our correction, and our very personal love letter. It really is amazing when we realize what God has done for us. He has provided us with the written word and with the Living Word. We have everything that we need.
Here is the problem I run into - see if you can relate. My flesh wants a 5 year plan. I want to know if I do what God is asking me to do, how will it play out. I want to know where His path will lead my earthly life. The problem is - my way does not leave any room for faith. However, God’s way requires complete and total faith in Him. Read the scripture above and imagine what that might look like. Imagine God’s word as a lamp or a lantern in your hand on a very dark path that is unseen and unknown. As you hold up this lantern, it lights up your next step - that’s it. He gives us our next step and waits for us to take it. We want a high power flashlight to shine a long way down the path and reveal what is ahead. But God says, “Trust Me and take the next step.”
So… what are we to do? We are to get into God’s written word and read it. Read the Bible and study it daily. Instead of thinking we don’t have time, we need to realize we cannot afford to NOT do it. It simply needs to become a priority. And we should be spending time with the Living Word - Jesus. It requires our spending time with Him to get to know Him and to build a relationship with Him - an intimate relationship.
As we do this, God will reveal our next step and then wait for us to take it. Once we do, He will reveal our next step and wait for us to take it. This will repeat over and over and over again. As we do, we learn to walk by faith trusting God as we obediently move down the path He has for us.
Let’s do it! Let’s encourage each other to get into the written word and spend time with the Living Word. Let’s walk by faith down the path He has for each of us - taking one step at a time.
Hi friend 🤍
If you’ve ever felt called to more… but unsure what your next step is—you are not alone.
My name is Pam Pegram, and I’m a Leadership and Personal Growth Coach who loves Jesus.
I help Christian women gain clarity, build confidence, and step into Christ-centered influence—at work, in their community, and at home.
Because you were never meant to just get by…
You were created to live with purpose, impact others, and walk fully in what God has for you.
Here’s what I believe:
If you are a believer, you are called to lead
Leadership is influence—being salt and light (Matthew 5)
It’s not about position, personality, or platform
It’s about living on purpose right where God has placed you
How do we do that?
Through the Called to Lead Framework, where we focus on:
✔️ The formation of you as a leader (identity, mindset, beliefs)
✔️ The formation of your leadership (connection, vision, influence)
✔️ The practical application of impacting others and leaving a legacy
Now that you’re here—let’s stay connected 🤍
