Are You Ready for God to Do a New Thing

Are you Ready for God to do a New Thing?

There is a scripture in Isaiah you may have heard before…

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it?

Isaiah 43:19

In verse 18, God commanded the people not to remember the past. The conquest of the Promised Land would be insignificant compared to the new kingdom God would establish. Because God is in control and knows the future, He could make this promise. It is a promise we can cling to today.

What has been, will in no way compare to what is coming. Why do we fret; why do we worry? For those of us who know Jesus, our future is bright. We can be filled with joy as we take steps  closer and closer to our Savior and grow nearer to the day we will enter our eternal home.

In the meantime, verse 20 says that God “will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert”. Does that encourage you? It surely does me. No matter how wild the world becomes and out of control our life may feel – He promises to make a road in our wilderness that leads us back to Him. And even when we feel like we are in a desolate place – isolated and all alone – do you know what God does? He is there to refresh us. All we have to do is crawl up in our Father’s lap.

What does He ask of us? Well in verse 18 He says, “Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old.” My paraphrase is stop looking back. We long for the good days, are haunted by our past, and get consumed with thoughts of what others have done to us – none of that is good. God wants us to stop it. We can’t go back and relive what we feel are our glory days and we cannot undo the parts of our past that make us cringe. In the words of Elsa (If you have children or grandchildren, you know Elsa.), Let It Go!!!! Instead of looking back, let’s look up and let’s move forward. What is ahead is worth every hard day, every tear, every ounce of heartbreak because it is leading us to - this new thing that will spring forth – God’s plan for us.

So today – let’s grab ahold of that promise and praise Him because no matter how hard today may be or how lost we may feel – He is about to do a new thing. In the meantime, He is here with us, leading us and refreshing us. He has us and that should bring rest to our soul. All we have to do is surrender our worry, our fretting, our struggle to Him. Then raise those empty hands in surrender and say Yes to Him. Let’s do this!

Hi friend 🤍

If you’ve ever felt called to more… but unsure what your next step is—you are not alone.

My name is Pam Pegram, and I’m a Leadership and Personal Growth Coach who loves Jesus.

I help Christian women gain clarity, build confidence, and step into Christ-centered influence—at work, in their community, and at home.

Because you were never meant to just get by…
You were created to live with purpose, impact others, and walk fully in what God has for you.

Here’s what I believe:

  • If you are a believer, you are called to lead

  • Leadership is influence—being salt and light (Matthew 5)

  • It’s not about position, personality, or platform

  • It’s about living on purpose right where God has placed you

How do we do that?

Through the Called to Lead Framework, where we focus on:

✔️ The formation of you as a leader (identity, mindset, beliefs)
✔️ The formation of your leadership (connection, vision, influence)
✔️ The practical application of impacting others and leaving a legacy
