What is Your Excuse?

What is Your Excuse?

We have all heard “excuses are useless” and they really are. We get it when we are listening to the excuses of others. We can see right through them and recognize what they are doing.

But… what about when we are making excuses? Do we recognize it? Or are we choosing to lean into denial?

What is your excuse? What excuses are you not recognizing? What excuses are you in denial about? And to take it a step farther, what is behind your excuse?

You see, being a Christian is not a spectator sport. We are not called to pray to receive Jesus and then just sit back and watch the world “go to hell in a handbasket”, as some would say. We are called to follow Jesus and lead others to Him. The Bible says it many different ways, but it does not say do nothing, stay comfortable, and shrink back.

Even our excuses do not alleviate our calling to lead.

Do you fear failure?

Do you choose to stay safe inside your comfort zone?

Do you not feel equipped?

Have you not known?
Have you not heard?
The everlasting God, the Lord,
The Creator of the ends of the earth,
Neither faints nor is weary.
His understanding is unsearchable.
He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31

What if every time we feared failure, we feared leaving our comfort zone, or we were sure we were not equipped, we remembered this passage?

It is God who has called us.

It is God who empowers us.

It is God who equips us.

Our excuses are useless, but our obedience is not useless. Matter of fact, it is what God wants to use to point others to Him. Rise up, leader. God is waiting to use you.

I am praying for you.

Pam

Hi friend 🤍

If you’ve ever felt called to more… but unsure what your next step is—you are not alone.

My name is Pam Pegram, and I’m a Leadership and Personal Growth Coach who loves Jesus.

I help Christian women gain clarity, build confidence, and step into Christ-centered influence—at work, in their community, and at home.

Because you were never meant to just get by…
You were created to live with purpose, impact others, and walk fully in what God has for you.

Here’s what I believe:

  • If you are a believer, you are called to lead

  • Leadership is influence—being salt and light (Matthew 5)

  • It’s not about position, personality, or platform

  • It’s about living on purpose right where God has placed you

How do we do that?

Through the Called to Lead Framework, where we focus on:

✔️ The formation of you as a leader (identity, mindset, beliefs)
✔️ The formation of your leadership (connection, vision, influence)
✔️ The practical application of impacting others and leaving a legacy

Now that you’re here—let’s stay connected 🤍
