60 Things I Want to Tell You

Today is my birthday! I can hardly believe it, but today - I am 60 years old. What? How in the world can it be? I feel like I should be in my 30’s maybe. Zero to thirty went by fast, but 30-60 was on hyper speed. A lot has happened in my life - a lot of hard things - and a lot of amazing things.

Today, well all month actually, I am celebrating the goodness of the Lord! He has been faithful and never ceases to amaze me. I only have one regret and that is I wish I had fallen in love with Jesus earlier and made Him #1 in my life sooner. I encourage you to do it right now and never look back.

Just for fun, I thought today was a good day to list 60 things I want to tell you. These are things I want my children and grandchildren to know. These are things I want to talk about with my friends. These are some of the things I share with my clients. These are 60 things that have impact and can change the course of our life. Each one matters. I pray that as you read them, some will leap off the page and pierce your heart. (They are listed as God placed them on my heart and not in any specific order. But I will tell you that Jesus should always be first on the list.)

60 Things I Want to Tell You

  1. Jesus is everything we have ever wanted and everything we will ever need.

  2. Don’t waste time practicing religion and going through the motions. Build a deeply committed, deeply rooted relationship with Jesus. (Read Saved by Grace, Now What? by me. 😉 It will help you.)

  3. He will use it all for good - hard times and good times. Wait and see. (Sometimes we have to get on the others side and look back to see His goodness. He is there. You are never alone.)

  4. God’s way is always the best way.

  5. Value people - all people. (Before you judge remember… but for the grace of God, there go I.)

  6. Remember God is good – even when we don’t understand.

  7. If we say, I can’t – we won’t. If we say, I can – we will.

  8. Satan says, be offended. Jesus says, forgive. Be hard to offend. (Read The Bait of Satan by John Bevere.)

  9. Regardless of what my feelings say, I am loved with an everlasting love. (Read Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers… It helps us understand how God loves us and is pursuing us,)

  10. God is trustworthy – no matter what. No matter what – God is trustworthy

  11. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life.

  12. Love others more than yourself.

  13. Be generous with your time, your money, and your love.

  14. Laugh out loud as often as possible.

  15. Admit your shortcomings and enjoy laughing at yourself.

  16. Allow God to use your gifts for His glory.

  17. Recognize failures as opportunities to learn, to grow, and to point others to Jesus.

  18. But first – Jesus! Stop putting everything before Him.

  19. Your relationship with Jesus is the most important thing in your life.

  20. Don’t say “my kids will never”, because they are going to.

  21. Those who you love the most, will hurt you the deepest. (You will survive.)

  22. The things that matter the most to us should line up with what matters to God.

  23. It’s not about how things appear – it’s all about the posture of our heart.

  24. We have nothing to prove.

  25. Don’t even give thought to defending yourself. It’s not necessary. Be quiet.

  26. Read your Bible – well, don’t just read it – study it and apply it. It is life-changing.

  27. God has a word for you. Listen as you read His word, as you pray, and as you worship. He speaks in a whisper.

  28. Be a good steward of your money – but remember God is your provision. He makes a way when there seems to be no way.

  29. Tithe. This is the only place in the Bible where God says “test me”.

  30. Obedience is better than Disobedience.

  31. It is easy to do wrong, to go along with the crowd, to make mistakes. It is hard to do what is right, to be set apart, and to let God guide.

  32. Stop reacting and start responding with love and kindness.

  33. Remember - I am who the Great I Am says I am. (No one or nothing else defines me.)

  34. Invest in leadership development. (Read. Study. Grow. Impact others. All for the glory of the Lord.)

  35. Our value is instilled in us by our Creator. Nothing we have done or said and nothing that has happened to us can diminish that.

  36. His power is made strong in my weakness.

  37. Pray a one word prayer, YES!

  38. It’s not about me. My life, my leadership, my purpose is not about me – but about the One who created me and determined my purpose before the foundation of the world. It’s not about you.

  39. My hope is found in Jesus and nothing else, so no matter what I have hope because I have Jesus!

  40. Keep the main thing the main thing.

  41. Pay attention to your eyes – where are you looking – down, around, or up? Fix your eyes on Jesus and walk on the water with Him.

  42. Enrich the lives of those around you.

  43. Joy = Jesus first, others next, and myself last.

  44. Tell others the potential you see in them.

  45. Communicate clearly.

  46. Honesty is always the best policy.

  47. Choose your friends wisely.

  48. Others expect more from you than what they offer to you.

  49. Say, I like you and I love you often.

  50. Don’t demand your rights, instead fulfill your responsibilities.

  51. Sarcasm is ugly – even when it is funny.

  52. Work hard – but protect down time. We all need margin in our life.

  53. A little plus a little plus a little eventually leads to a lot.

  54. Serve others with love.

  55. Don’t seek to receive credit for what you do. You don’t need it. God sees.

  56. Do the hard stuff.

  57. See the best in others and stop finding fault. (Making assumptions, assigning meaning to things that have none, and unmet expectations can mislead us and cause us pain that we don’t have to experience.) We all need to grow up emotionally.

  58. Set healthy boundaries to protect your character.

  59. Have a growth mindset.

  60. Learn to connect with people.

As I turn 60 and reflect on my beautiful blessings, I have to tell you how thankful I am for YOU! Thank you for following my blog. I pray it is an encouragement to you. Please share it with your friends and family. Let’s all link arms and point one another to Jesus.

And if you want to give me a birthday gift 💝…

With love,

Pam
