Is It Too Late to Fulfill God's Purpose? Why God's Plan for Your Life Doesn't Expire in Midlife
Have you ever wondered if you missed your chance?
Maybe life didn't go according to plan.
Perhaps you've made mistakes, taken a few detours, spent years raising children, building a career, caring for aging parents, or simply surviving difficult seasons.
Now you're looking around and wondering:
"Did I miss what God had for me?"
Friend, let me encourage you today with a truth that has the power to change everything:
There is no expiration date on God's purpose for your life.
If you're breathing, God is still working.
He's still calling.
He's still using ordinary people to make an extraordinary impact.
And He isn't finished with you.
Why So Many Christian Women Feel Behind in Midlife (I’m talking about it on Episode 241 of the podcast. HERE)
One of the most common conversations I have with women is this:
"Pam, I know God has a purpose for me, but I feel like I've wasted too many years."
Or:
"I'm too old to start something new."
"I wish I had figured this out twenty years ago."
"Someone else could do it better."
Sound familiar?
We live in a culture that celebrates youth and often overlooks the value of wisdom. Social media makes it easy to compare our lives to someone else's highlight reel and conclude that we're behind.
But God's timeline doesn't operate according to the world's standards.
God isn't asking you to compare your journey to someone else's.
He's inviting you to trust Him with your own.
What the Bible Says About Purpose and Age
When we open Scripture, we find story after story of God using people later in life.
Moses Was 80 Years Old
Most people would have assumed Moses' most influential years were behind him.
Yet God called him at 80 to lead the Israelites out of Egypt.
Abraham and Sarah Received the Promise Late
Human logic said it was impossible.
God said otherwise.
Caleb Was 85 and Still Pursuing God's Calling
At 85 years old, Caleb didn't say:
"Give me a rocking chair."
He said:
"Give me this mountain." (Joshua 14:12)
What a picture of faith, courage, and purpose.
The Bible repeatedly reminds us that God is not limited by age, experience, or human timelines.
God Uses Your Experiences—Even the Difficult Ones
One of the enemy's favorite lies is convincing us that our mistakes disqualify us.
But God specializes in redemption.
He wastes nothing.
Not your successes.
Not your failures.
Not your heartbreak.
Not your detours.
Not even the years you think you've lost.
Some of the strongest leaders I know lead from a place of wisdom that can only come through experience.
The challenges you've walked through may be preparing you to help someone else.
The lessons you've learned could become another person's breakthrough.
The scars you carry may become evidence of God's faithfulness.
Your story isn't over.
And neither is your influence.
Stop Waiting Until You Feel Ready
One of the biggest leadership mistakes I see is waiting.
Waiting until we're more confident.
Waiting until we know more.
Waiting until circumstances improve.
Waiting until life settles down.
Waiting until we feel qualified.
But leadership isn't about having all the answers.
Leadership is about taking the next faithful step.
God rarely reveals the entire staircase.
Instead, He illuminates the next step.
That's where faith grows.
That's where trust develops.
And that's where transformation begins.
What Is God Calling You to Do Right Now?
Not five years from now.
Not when your schedule clears up.
Not when everything feels perfect.
Today.
Maybe God is calling you to:
Start the blog you've been thinking about for years.
Mentor a younger woman.
Lead a Bible study.
Launch a ministry.
Start a nonprofit.
Have a difficult but necessary conversation.
Show up differently at work and see it as your mission field.
Finally say yes to something He's been nudging you toward for a long time.
Whatever it is, stop measuring your timeline against everyone else's.
God isn't late.
And neither are you.
God's Timing Is Always Perfect
Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us:
"Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time." (NLT)
His timing.
Not ours.
If God still has breath in your lungs, He still has purpose for your life.
Your calling hasn't expired.
Your influence still matters.
Your leadership is still needed.
And your greatest impact may still be ahead of you.
Step into it, Sis! God has you.

I would love to help you take the next step.
Hi friend -
If you’ve ever felt called to more… but unsure what your next step is—you are not alone.
My name is Pam Pegram, and I’m a Leadership and Personal Growth Coach who loves Jesus.
I help Christian women gain clarity, build confidence, and step into Christ-centered influence—at work, in their community, and at home.
You were created to live with purpose, impact others, and walk fully in what God has for you.
Here’s what I believe:
If you are a believer, you are called to lead
Leadership is influence—being salt and light (Matthew 5)
It’s not about position, personality, or platform
It’s about living on purpose right where God has placed you
How do we do that?
Through the Called to Lead Framework, where we focus on:
✔️ The formation of you as a leader (identity, mindset, beliefs)
✔️ The formation of your leadership (connection, vision, influence)
✔️ The practical application of impacting others and leaving a legacy
It’s time to become who you were created to be so you can do what you are called to do.
